For the first time in the history of the Central River Region Football Association (CRRFA), under the dynamic leadership of President Usman Keita and his executive, all registered football academies within the region were invited to a landmark meeting.
During this historic engagement, we discussed extensively the critical role of academies in football development and reached a unanimous agreement: a Small-Sided Game Competition for all football academies in the Central River Region will be organized early next month.
This competition will not only provide a platform for academies to showcase their talents but will also serve as the official qualifying pathway for academies that will represent our region in competitions outside the Central River Region.
We recognize that football academies are the backbone of talent development and the main supply chain for players to clubs and the national system. Under the leadership of the new CRRFA Executive, we cannot and will not neglect the vital role of academies. Instead, we will prioritize them as an integral part of our football development agenda.
This tournament will motivate academies, strengthen team structures, and expand our player pool, ensuring that the future of football in our region remains bright. You cannot develop football without football academies, and we are committed to giving them the platform they deserve.
Together, let us make this competition a resounding success for the growth of football in the Central River Region.
